Terms of Use
Terms of Use
The short version: everything here is free educational information, not professional advice, and you use it at your own judgment.
Last updated: 2026-07-29
1. Acceptance of these terms
By using maplecalcs.org (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision, and continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Educational purpose — not professional advice
All calculators, guides, and other content on the Site are provided for general education and planning purposes only. Nothing on the Site constitutes financial, investment, tax, lending, accounting, or legal advice, and nothing on the Site creates any advisor–client or professional relationship of any kind.
Calculator results are estimates produced by published formulas applied to the inputs you provide. Your actual mortgage payment, penalty, benefit amount, tax, or fee is determined solely by your lender, the Canada Revenue Agency, Service Canada, your provincial court, or the other institution involved — and may differ from the Site's estimate. Always confirm figures with the relevant institution or a licensed professional before acting on them.
3. Accuracy and currency of information
We make a serious effort to keep thresholds, rates, and rules current, and each calculator states the year its figures apply to. However, government programs change, and errors are possible. The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MapleCalcs and its operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site or reliance on any content or calculator result, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Site is to stop using it.
5. Advertising
The Site is supported by third-party advertising (including Google AdSense), which keeps all tools free. Advertisers do not influence calculator formulas, results, or editorial content. Ads are served by third parties who may use cookies as described in our Privacy Policy. The appearance of an advertisement on the Site is not an endorsement of the advertised product or service.
6. Intellectual property
The content, design, and code of the Site are the property of MapleCalcs unless otherwise noted. You may link to any page and quote brief excerpts with attribution. You may not republish entire pages, scrape the Site systematically, or present the calculators as your own work without written permission.
7. External links
The Site links to external resources, including Government of Canada pages, that we believe are useful. We are not responsible for the content or availability of external sites.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Manitoba.
9. Contact
